Quality care from an experienced doctor.
For farsightedness, nearsightedness, astigmatism, eye injuries, diabetes screening or other eye conditions, trust your vision to Dr. Sherrer. He has more than 12 years of experience in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases. Using leading-edge equipment, Dr. Sherrer checks for macular degeneration, cataracts, glaucoma, diabetes, dry eyes and more. He provides the most advanced procedures used to diagnose and correct eye disorders:
Diabetic eye disease: Diabetic eye disease (also called diabetic retinopathy) is a very serious problem that can lead to loss of sight. Finding and treating diabetic retinopathy early can help save sight.
Glaucoma treatment: If left untreated, glaucoma results in blindness. In fact, it's the third leading cause of blindness around the world, and the second leading cause in the United States. Dr. Sherrer uses several nonsurgical methods to treat this condition, including eye drops. However, if further treatment is necessary, he uses an argon or YAG laser procedure, or conventional surgery.
Flashes and floaters: When the vitreous, a gelatin-like substance, separates from the retina, flashes and floaters can result. Sometimes these symptoms may be no more than a nuisance, but it is important that patients see Dr. Sherrer when these symptoms occur, as they could indicate a tear in the retina. Left untreated, a retinal tear could lead to a retina detachment with subsequent vision loss.
