For farsightedness, nearsightedness, astigmatism, eye injuries, diabetes screening or other eye conditions, trust your vision to Dr. Sherrer. He has more than 25 years of experience in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases. Using leading-edge equipment, Dr. Sherrer checks for macular degeneration, cataracts, glaucoma, diabetes, dry eyes and more. He provides the most advanced procedures used to diagnose and correct eye disorders.

Cataract Surgery

If you see cloudy, blurry, or misty patches, it may be because you have cataracts. This happens when the lens inside your eye develops patches that affect vision in this way. If left untreated the condition may worsen or even lead to blindness. Pacific Eye Center’s experts offer highly effective cataract surgery to address the situation by replacing the lens with an artificial one.

Pterygium Surgery

Pterygium is a non-cancerous fleshy overgrowth that can occur due to a number of things, including excessive exposure to sunlight and other environmental conditions, as well as chronic eye conditions that cause irritation. It may be prevalent or you may not have symptoms. At Pacific Eye Center, we offer effective pterygium surgery to remove these overgrowths.

Glaucoma treatment

If left untreated, glaucoma results in blindness. In fact, it's the third leading cause of blindness around the world, and the second leading cause in the United States. Dr. Sherrer uses several nonsurgical methods to treat this condition, including eye drops. However, if further treatment is necessary, he uses an argon or YAG laser procedure, or conventional surgery.

Dry Eye Disease

If your eyes are dry and/or have a stinging sensation, then you may have a common condition known as dry eye disease. It occurs when your tears do not lubricate your eyes sufficiently, causing inflammation and eye surface damage. Pacific Eye Center has a number of treatments, including eyedrops and eye inserts, that may help alleviate symptoms. We can also suggest lifestyle changes that improve the condition.

Flashes and floaters

When the vitreous, a gelatin-like substance, separates from the retina, flashes and floaters can result. Sometimes these symptoms may be no more than a nuisance, but it is important that patients see an ophthalmologist when these symptoms occur, as they could indicate a tear in the retina. Left untreated, a retinal tear could lead to a retina detachment with subsequent vision loss.

Diabetic eye disease

Diabetic eye disease (also called diabetic retinopathy), is a very serious problem that can lead to loss of sight. Finding and treating diabetic retinopathy early can help save sight.
